Sona obtained a master's degree in Linguistics and Marketing Management, which opened the doors to an exciting career in the travel industry. She quickly transitioned to the yachting sector, where her passion for travel and her expertise in management could be elevated by her charming and friendly personality. Since then, she has gained over 25 years of experience in arranging luxury yacht charters, attended over 50 yacht shows, and is now a figurehead in the business.
Having personally experienced a vast majority of yacht charter destinations such as the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and French Polynesia, Sona is an expert in guiding her clients towards their dream yacht charter location, where they can create happy memories with friends and loved ones. She harnessed her potential when launching her own luxury yacht charter company in 1998, and ran it successfully until 2021, when she joined IYC as a retail charter consultant. At IYC Sona continues to frequently facilitate charters for her clients on some of the world's most renowned superyachts.
While many of her repeat clients are from the Americas, the Middle East, and the UK, Sona is fluent in Marathi and Hindi, giving her the unique ability to communicate with multiple East Asian clients. She is very involved within her community, and also works closely with others to facilitate funding for educational charities in Ghana. In her free time, she enjoys meditation, reading, participating in theater performances, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her four‐legged best friend, Albie.
