Built to Lloyd’s classification and originally owned by American automobile executive Lee Iacocca, the 146’ (44.5m) Costa Magna has undergone multiple refits since her 1983 delivery by Turkish shipyard Proteksan, which include upgrades to the Jacuzzi, generators and stabilizers, tanks cleaned, bearings checked and ongoing repairs and maintenance. The bilges in the engine room are also regularly opened, treated and painted.
Costa Magna’s notable features include a teak-decked flybridge with multiple lounging areas forward and aft. A second helm with duplicate controls affords a great vantage point from which to cruise. An on-deck spa Jacuzzi with banquette seating and al fresco dining opportunities invite the best of the yachting lifestyle, while a Bimini top provides ample shade throughout the day.
Forward of the L-shaped wheelhouse is the Sky Bar with L-shaped seating on which to enjoy cocktail hour, and double sliding doors that lead directly out to the aft deck. Ample dining opportunities include a large dining table and two additional dining/coffee tables with banquette seating. Teak decking runs throughout.
Formal dining for ten guests is provided in the main deck dining room. The main saloon provides an intimate setting with sumptuous sofas in which to relax and socialize. Two sliding doors lead from the saloon to the generous aft deck, providing a close connection to the outdoors.
A full-beam owner’s stateroom on the main deck boasts a large king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom with a head-turning full-sized pink marble bathtub. A further four guest cabins are located on the lower deck, enabling Costa Magna to accommodate a total of 10 guests.
Costa Magna boasts a flexible layout, silent cruising, low fuel consumption and a large interior volume. The addition of stabilizers guarantees guests’ comfort when underway in rough waters. Costa Magna is a proven bluewater cruiser with a displacement hull and Approved Class (BV) for the bottom 2023.
